Concierge plugin Updates
How The Update Check Works
The plugin checks for new releases by contacting the White Media hub approximately every six hours. If a newer version is available, it is surfaced in Dashboard — Updates with the version number and a one-click install option, exactly as you would expect from any plugin available through the WordPress plugin directory.
The update check requires your site to be able to reach hub.whitemedia.uk over HTTPS. If your hosting environment restricts outbound connections, the update check will not succeed. Contact your hosting provider if you believe this may be the case.
Installing An Update
When an update is available, go to Dashboard — Updates in your WordPress admin. Concierge will be listed with its current version and the available version. Tick the checkbox next to Concierge and click Update Plugins. WordPress will download and install the update automatically.
After updating, flush your site cache. The widget JavaScript and stylesheet are versioned, so a cache flush ensures visitors load the latest files immediately rather than a cached version from the previous release.
After Updating
Most updates require no action beyond flushing the cache. Release notes for each version are available from the View version details link on the Updates screen, which shows the changelog for the new release.
Occasionally an update may include a change that requires a one-time configuration step — for example, a security change that requires re-entering an API key. Any such steps are clearly noted in the release notes and will be communicated by White Media to active clients.
